THE OCEANSPACE AQUATIC IMAGER, NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE OR LEASE, WILL SERVE YOU WELL.

The patent-pending OceanSpace Aquatic Imager is an optical imaging system that substantially advances classification and mapping of zooplankton, microplastics, and other particulates by delivering spatially resolved images in near-real-time with flexibility for use in the field or laboratory and with classification accuracy exceeding 80% when built upon a user-specified training library. For routine ecological monitoring in any aquatic environment, our system establishes a modern sampling paradigm with cost and performance efficiencies exceeding legacy net-based sampling.

Aquatic Imager

The OceanSpace Aquatic Imager incorporates a 1” diameter flow path suitable for imaging particulates ranging in size from 1 mm (or less) to 10mm in cross-section, the width of the imaging chamber. Other chamber widths are available upon request.

Versatile, Rugged, and weather resistant

The OceanSpace Aquatic Imager is small and lightweight (< 25 lbs) for ease of use in the laboratory or classroom, but is rugged and weather-resistant to facilitate field sampling. Available accessories enable sample delivery in the laboratory or in field settings ranging from small streams to the open ocean. The Aquatic Imager delivers data rapidly and with fine-scale resolution, providing an ideal solution for biodiversity and environmental impact monitoring

continuous flow-through imaging

Fluid containing the target particulates passes through the unit’s imaging chamber, via pumping or gravity flow, where a high-speed line-scan camera obtains a continuous recording. The digital record corresponding to each imaged organism can then be classified in near-real-time using our proprietary Image Manager classification and analysis software system. The temporally resolved data easily integrate with ancillary data (e.g., temperature, salinity, location, flow speed) via a common time stamp, a solution unavailable when using legacy net-based sampling.
